Surftech Boards

What fins should i get for my surfboard?

The board is a Rusty, Surftech mid-size board. It’s 8′ 6″, i weigh around 170 lb.. i just need to know before i buy them…. this is the first board I’ve actually bought so i need some experienced advice. Also, I’m gonna need a travel bag so any suggestions would be nice. here’s a link to which board I’m buying. http://beckersurf.com/surftech/95485
I do have surf experience, it’s just the first board i’ve actually purchased. We’re looking at places like 54th street, VA Beach is where i’ll be surfing for the most part.
How about this board instead, http://beckersurf.com/becker/62604
with these fins, http://beckersurf.com/productDetails?search=117465&sgid=313&skuid=18166
… i’m limited to online because i live in a landlocked state, no surf shops. thanks for the advice!! let me know about that board and fins please.

Jason M is right. Listen, if you have to ask this question on line, you won’t know the difference between one set of fins and another. And man, is that the wrong board for a beginner!

Go take lessons. The next time you go some place to surf, go to a local surf shop and discuss your skill level (your REAL skill level) your size, and the local wave conditions and the folks in the store will get you set up with the right board. Trust folks in a surf shop, not the goofy stuff you get on line. After 43 years of surfing, I still get my surfboard buying advice in good surf shops in the places where I surf.

Your second choice is lots better. But, don’t buy a board on line. If you live in a landlockled state, you surely don’t need the board at home! So, buy one in a shop wherever you go surf, VAB perhaps, or somewhere else. I live two hours from the nearest beach in a big old northeastern city. I buy my surfboards in the towns that i surf in.. Very simple.
